Who runs the site
The Paw Post is an independent pet information publication. For privacy enquiries, please use our contact form.
Visiting the website
The hosting service processes the technical information needed to deliver pages, such as network addresses, requested URLs and error information. This helps operate and protect the website.
Correspondence
Our contact form asks for your name, email address, enquiry type and message. We use these details to respond and handle your enquiry. Please do not send sensitive personal information or veterinary records.
Our server forwards your message through FormSubmit to our email inbox, hosted by Google. FormSubmit retains submissions for 30 days to support delivery. Read FormSubmit’s privacy policy and Google’s privacy policy. Your browser sends the form to The Paw Post; it does not connect directly to FormSubmit.
We use short-lived request counts to limit automated spam. Form contents are not included in our visitor measurements. To ask about correspondence you have sent us, use the contact form and choose “General enquiry”.
Measuring visits and your choices
On thepawpost.co.uk, we use Google Analytics to understand which articles people read and improve the website. Before you make a choice, and if you choose to continue without cookies, Google receives limited measurements without storing or reading analytics cookies. These include the article address, referring website, time of the visit and technical browser information. Google also receives your network address when your browser connects to its service. Cookieless measurement does not mean that no information is sent to Google.
If you allow analytics cookies, Google can use its _ga cookies to recognise repeat visits in the same browser. Our analytics cookies are configured to expire after 180 days, with expiry refreshed during use. Advertising consent stays off, and we disable Google signals and advertising personalisation.
We remove search terms, query strings and page fragments from the page addresses we send to Analytics. We do not send names, email addresses, account identifiers or form contents as part of our visitor measurements.
You can allow analytics cookies, continue without them, or turn off all visitor measurement using Cookie choices at any time. Turning measurement off stops future Analytics events from this site and removes its existing Analytics cookies; it does not delete data already received by Google. We also switch visitor measurement off when your browser sends Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track.
We remember your choice in your browser for 180 days. This preference is not a visitor identifier. Clearing browser storage removes it, and each browser has its own choice. Turning off visitor measurement does not stop the technical processing needed to serve and protect the website.
Google processes Analytics data on its systems, which may be outside the UK. Read how Google uses information from sites that use its services for more information.
External services
Articles can link to other websites, and some archive content includes externally hosted images or video. Those services have their own privacy practices. Following an external link or loading external media may send information to its provider.
Accounts and forms
The public site does not currently offer account registration, comments or newsletter signup. Old WordPress forms have not been carried over to send information to the previous operator.
